CCS - Eat or Gas Up to Give

A New Fundraising Opportunity

CCS.png

The ROW Swim Club is offering to it's members, family, and friends, a fundraising program that allows you to raise funds for yourself, without spending any extra money. It's free. The funds raised will be deposited into your ROW account.

How, you ask? Do you buy groceries, gasoline, or coffee at Tim Hortons? YES!

If you shop at grocery stores like Food Basics, Sobeys, and Zehrs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Tim Hortons, M&M's, major gasoline companies, Canadian Tire (gas bar and store), then fundraising is easy with CCS - Community Charity Services.

The Eat to Give & Gas Up to Give Program

Community Charity Services introduced the Eat to Give™ card/certificate program in 2003. This new and effective fundraiser works in conjunction with national grocery & gas retailers. In 2005, the Gas Up to Give™ program was introduced.

With the use of a card or gift certificate as payment, a portion of the card's value is donated by the grocery and gas retailer to the participating charity or nonprofit organization. Members receive minimum 2.5% to 3.0% of their card value/month (based on amount purchased and method of payment).

Please note: A new CCS administration fee of 15% will be taken off your refund.

Want to buy gift cards from other retailers, clothing stores, restaurants? You may purchase gift cards from the gift card kiosk at Zehrs stores, with your Loblaws card.

What a great way to save money and give a gift.

How do I start raising funds?

Please go to www.charityservices.ca and click on Registration Form. Registering online is the fastest and easiest method, but you may also download the registration form and mail it in with your PAP (pre-authorized payment) information. Your registration must be received by CCS on or before May 20 for Junedelivery. Please enter Region of Waterloo (ROW) Swim Club for 'Charity/Non profit group you are supporting'.

To find out more information about CCS, their program, and all participating retailers, please go to www.charityservices.ca. Click on each link on the left side of the page. Click on the sub-links denoted by green arrows, especially the FAQ link.

Important Notes

  • Funds raised are deposited into your ROW account.
  • There is a one life time $5.00 set up fee for each participant, taken out of your first refund cheque.
  • Please note that you must register by May 20th to receive cards in June. There is a $250/month grocery card minimum order (Eat to Give section).
  • You may use the quarterly PAP option (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd ) with a minimum of $400/month grocery card order.
  • This is a recurring monthly fundraising program. The cards you order in your first month, will be mailed to you each month automatically, and your Pre Authorized payments are withdrawn from your account each month.1
  • Your cards will be sent on the 2nd, and should arrive at your 'shipping' address, insured by Canada Post, in 3 - 4 business days. Please disregard any different shipping information on the registration form.
  • Please ask family and friends if they would like to participate, to help you raise funds, at no extra cost to them. They can register online or mail in their registration. You must send me the names of your friends and family participating, so the funds they raise can be deposited into your ROW account. Alternately, they can be a part of your own monthly card order.

For stores with gift certificates, you must use the entire amount within $5.00. Therefore, please order small denominations. For example, you must spend at least $45.00 of your $50.00 gift certificate. You will receive change under $5.00. This isn't an issue with gift cards, which can be used repeatedly until the balance declines to 0.
