Nandi Kormendi

Nandi has been coaching for over 22 years and has been with the Region of Waterloo Swim Club for 4 years. He has coached his swimmers to success at every level.

Nandi has been staff for Provincial Tour teams and Canada Games teams. While coaching Canadian Record Holder Mike Brown, Nandi was National Team Staff on two World Cup meets, Pan Pacific Championships and the 2003 World Aquatic Championships. In 2002, Nandi was awarded OSCA’s Coach of the Year Award. In 2005 Nandi was awarded both the ACC National and Junior Coach of the Year awards.

Nandi has always been involved with the sport on the administrative side as well, being a member of the Ontario Swim Coaches Association board for 7 years, and was on the Alberta Coaches Council/High Performance Advisory Committee for three years.

"Swimming your best under pressure, when it counts the most, is the key to success and the physical, technical and mental skills required to do this are developed during practice. Team/group unity, commitment and desire by all are the underpinnings of a great training environment and are part of the characteristics of a great athlete".

The Region of Waterloo swim club has had many athletes develop and add to the tradition of excellence and Nandi is proud to be a part of it.
