ROW Swim Club offers a variety of programs for swimmers of all abilities. Swimmers must be comfortable in the water independently.

The first step to joining ROW is to have your swimmer's skills assessed. Assessments are normally held in September/December/March. You can also arrange an assessment at other times by sending an email to ac.gnimmiwswor|tnemssessA#ac.gnimmiwswor|tnemssessA to set up an appointment. Please include in the email your swimmer's name and age plus parents' name and phone number.

Once you have arranged to bring your swimmer to an assessment, please download and fill out the top portion of the assessment form and take it with you to the assessment to hand to the coach. The coach will assess your swimmer's level and determine the best group for your swimmer. The bottom portion of the form must be included with your cheque payment to the ROW office prior to the start of your program.

KWSS (Kitchener-Waterloo Swim School) is our entry level program and is typically suited for swimmers aged 5-7 but is dependent on swim ability. KWSS programs are once a week, 45 minutes for 10 weeks, beginning in September, January and March. This program focuses on stroke development.

TOP 1 is our pre-competitive program typically suited for swimmers aged 7-10, but again is dependant on swim ability. The TOP 1 program runs September to the end of May, but new swimmers can join in January and March. Swimmers in this program swim two times a week, one hour each time. This program works on stroke technique and endurance. Swimmers in this program also participate in “ROW Series Meets”. These meets are informal fun meets designed to introduce swimmers to the sport of competitive swimming. The focus of these meets are “best times” and swimmers are awarded with ribbons. Swimmers in this level will also have the opportunity (if desired) to compete in one formal novice swim meet.

Our BRONZE programs are for more seasoned swimmers, ready to begin competitive swimming. From here, swimmers can move on to the SILVER, GOLD, SENIOR 3, SENIOR 2, and SENIOR 1 programs. Swimmer in these groups participate in swim meets at regional, provincial, and national level as they progress in age, maturity and skill.

SENIOR 3 is a program designed for high school students who want to start or continue their swim training. This is also a perfect fit for a youth seeking a fitness program while gaining valuable skills. This is a non-competitive program; however, for those who wish to formally compete, there is a competition option.
